UPSC CDS 2 Exam Purpose - The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the Combined Defence Services (CDS II) Examination on 8th November 2024 for the recruitment purpose of Navy and Air Force and Indian army. CDS qualified candidates will be able to get a chance to participate in the training process of the following academies:

UPSC has released the CDS 2 exam 2024 official notification to recruit candidates for training courses conducted by the Indian defence academies (IMA/INA/AFA/OTA).

What is CDS?
'CDS' is an acronym for 'Combined Defence Services' Examination which is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruitment into the Indian Military Academy(IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Indian Air Force (IAF) Academy, and Officers Training Academy (OTA).
What is OTA in CDS?
OTA is an acronym for the "Officers Training Academy". It is an Indian Army training academy to train officers for the Short Service Commission (SSC).
When will the CDS examination be held this year?
The Combined Defense Service Examination (CDSE) is conducted twice every year, generally in the month of February and August.
Can females apply for OTA through CDS exam?
No. But they can get admission in the Indian Air Force Academy Airforce through AFCAT exam conducted by the Indian Airforce twice in a year.
Can I apply for CDS after 12th?
No. only graduate students are applicable for CDS Entry. You have to pass NDA exam if you are interested to join army after 10+2.
What is the age limit for CDS?
20 to 24 Years. However, the age limit is relaxable up to 26 Years for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA India).
Is there any percentage criteria (Graduation) for CDS?
No specific percentage is required for CDS. Simply Graduation (3 years) is required to apply for CDS exam. Graduate candidates from Science stream are eligible to join all the three wings of defence.
